The Chart of Accounts is the underlying heart of Xero, and by customising your account codes to the precise needs of your business you can record and track each element of your finances. In essence, this coding process allows you to tag and group every single cost or revenue item in the business.

If there are accounts in the standard chart of accounts that are not required by the parish, you can choose to Archive the account to reduce the list of accounts available for transactions. To archive an account: 1. Go to Settings > General Settings > Chart of Accounts 2. Tick the account(s) you wish to archive. 3. Click the Archive button. 4. If you’re using Xero’s default chart of accounts, be mindful as theirs is for a standard business (and isn’t farming specific) so it may require a bit of work to customise it.
