The Sustainable Water Future Programme (WATER FUTURE) is a global research platform with expertise and innovation in water research, policy, security, and sustainability. Building upon more than a decade of water-related research under the Global Water System Project, WATER FUTURE provides the knowledge and support to accelerate transformations to a more sustainable planet. Scottish Government Climate Justice Fund Water Futures Programme led by Strathclyde University The Government of Scotland has been supporting a programme of work for several years (2011 to date) with the clear objective of supporting the Government of Malawi to achieve compliance with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6). This work stream has, since 2011, focused on groundwater resource management and has widened recently to challenges faced by water boards. To date all DWDO's from the 28 districts, MoAIWD staff from all Directorates in the 3 regions and Tikwere house, have all undertaken team building/targeted Groundwater Resource IWRM training in Scotland. The overarching goal of the program is to deliver risk management solutions - informed by leading-edge water science and supported by innovative decision-making tools - to manage water futures in Canada and other cold regions where global warming is changing landscapes, ecosystems, and the water environment. The Utility of the Future Today Recognition Program seeks to reach deeply into the water sector to form and motivate a community of like-minded water utilities engaged in advancing resource efficiency and recovery, developing proactive relationships with stakeholders, and establishing resilient, sustainable, and livable communities.
